The Exhibition of Cultural Relics and Archaeological Achievements in Central China and Lower Basin of the Yangtze River opened at the Wuxi Museum on March 5, thrusting the earthshaking bronze civilization into the limelight.

Consisting of three parts, the exhibition displays 110 pieces (sets) of exquisite cultural relics of the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties unearthed in Central China and the lower basin of the Yangtze River. It makes full use of utensil inscriptions and relevant literature to tell the stories about the integration of politics and culture behind the cultural relics.

By showcasing archaeological achievements and the cultural relics unearthed, the exhibition bears testimony to the exchange and integration between the civilizations in the basin of the Yellow River and that of the Yangtze River and expounds on the historical process of how the Chinese nation has shifted from diverse cultures to a unified culture. It interprets the cultural gene contained in cultural heritage, giving a vivid example of “making cultural relics speak.”

The forum on the origin of Xia, Shang, and Zhou civilizations was held at the opening of the exhibition, along with the launch of the digital collection of the sword of the King of Wu in the Spring and Autumn Period from the Wuxi Museum.

It is understood that the exhibition will last until June 4. Visitors may visit the show by producing the ticket free of charge, take photos at the site, and win a commemorative label containing the collector’s edition of the exhibition stamp.
